What is PISA?
PISA, Programme for International Student Assessment, is an assessment assessing 15-year-olds’ ability in mathematics, along with reading and science. It is one of the most globally recognised benchmarks of educational standards in a country or economy and is held every four years by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The 2022 PISA includes data from 81 countries and economies.
As with previous years, Asian countries stand tall when it comes to PISA scores, with five regions – Singapore, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea – occupying the top five positions.
